Gloria Glassman is an Enrolled Agent with the Reicin Pollack family. Gloria joined us in 1987, and is still working with the clients she has had for over 30 years! Gloria has built incredible relationships with her clients through customized personal service and consistently meeting every deadline. Among her vast and diverse number of clients, one of Gloria's specialties is restaurant and bar accounting, and she has assisted many owners in simplifying their accounting records since they first opened.

However, as we all like to do, Gloria and her husband Jerry take a break from working now and then. When they do, you can find them enjoying Chicago's Fine Arts, fishing, camping, traveling and enjoying their 7 grandchildren.

Effie Karavites began her career right here at Reicin, Pollack & Co., Ltd. eighteen years ago and is currently a senior audit manager. She attended Loyola University of Chicago and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration and obtained her CPA in 1993.

Effie's specialties include audits of labor organizations and multi-employer benefit plans. She has extensive experience managing and conducting payroll audits for multi-employer benefit plans. Under Effie's guidance our firm has acted as election supervisor for Teamster Labor Union elections. In addition, Effie has conducted nomination meetings for Teamster Local Union officer elections and Teamsters Local Union delegate elections.

She is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

Phil joined Reicin, Pollack & Co. in October of 2006. He graduated magna cum laude from Northern Illinois University in 2005 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in accounting. During the following year, Phil received his Master’s of Accounting Science degree from Northern Illinois University. While at school, Phil’s primary area of study focused on tax accounting but he is also knowledgeable in the areas of audit, financial reporting, and managerial accounting. Phil’s educational background along with the guidance and unique expertise of the RPCO staff will provide him with a solid and diverse accounting foundation for years to come.

At home, Phil likes to kick back and relax. His interests include, sports, fishing, and family. Phil Completed the CPA exam in December 2008.

Irving Mangurten is the firm administrator at Reicin Pollack whose specialties include financial, investment, retirement and tax consulting to entrepreneurs. Irv has parlayed his 30+ years of business experience to provide financial insight in the areas of strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, valuation services, corporate restructuring, divorce litigation and investment advisory services. These areas of concentration include the development and implementation of individual, corporate, retirement, investment and management advisory services. Irv's clientele include professional service entities, healthcare professionals, and closely held business with a special emphasis on service based businesses. Irv's goal is to help his clients gain and preserve wealth and to implement tax strateties that maximize and preserve after tax income.

Irv began his career with a local accounting firm, Checkers, Simon & Rosner in 1975 and joined Reicin Pollack in 1978. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University in 1973 and took numerous Post-graduate business courses at DePaul University.

 

Linda Mangurten, Administrative Assistant

Linda joined the firm in 2001 and brings over 20 years of customer service experience that she has cultivated through her work in the accounting field. Besides greeting our clients at the door, answering the phone and processing tax returns and financial statements, Linda assists all of our professionals with tracking of due dates. Linda is the liason between the firm and our vendors.

Linda's other responsibilities include time tracking, human resource management, and general office management. If you ever have an urgent situation and are trying to locate one of the RP&Co partners or associates, ask Linda. She always knows where to find all of our RP&Co family. Additionally, during the busy tax season, Linda ensures that everyone is well fed by coordinating all of our in-office meals!

When the day is over, and everything has been accounted for, Linda enjoys playing golf, traveling and spending time with her twin grandchildren.

Laura Stempien has been with RP&Co since 2002 and is one of our Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisors. She received her Bachelors of Business Administration from Northeastern University in 1990 and received her Masters of Accounting and Financial Management from Keller Graduate School in 2007.

Laura's specialty is Professional Service Companies, and her vast QuickBooks experience enables her to teach and continually support small business accounting systems. Laura is dedicated to superior client service and during her 17 years experience in public accounting, she continually strives to deliver the proper support so clients completely understand their accounting systems.

Kenneth Weiser is a manager with Reicin, Pollack & Co., Ltd. Ken has been with RP&Co since 2002 and focuses in the audit and accounting areas of our practice. Ken specializes in employee benefit plans, labor organizations, professional service organizations as well as real estate development & management.

Ken received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Michigan State University in 1983 and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1988. Ken is also a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Illinois and has been since 1983. Ken is currently a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and The Illinois Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Personal service, regardless of the size of the client, has always been and always will be a priority to Ken. Ken prides himself in his ability to make every client feel as important as his biggest client and a great friend. When you don't find Ken in the office, you can catch him cheering on the White Sox!
